Embarcadero Systems introduces terminal gate system
Embarcadero Systems Corp., a Californian technology company, has announced the introduction of a terminal gate system for intermodal terminals.
The “smartGATE” terminal system includes an “Intelligent Camera” module for closed circuit television. The gate system provides remote processing of gate transactions for intermodal facilities. Embarcadero Systems said that its system aims to optimize terminal operational efficiency and speed trucker turn times.
For high-volume terminal operators, Intelligent Camera increases the accuracy of existing optical character recognition (OCR) portals, the company said. For lower-volume terminal operators, it can be used to collect data.
