INTTRA PORTAL REPORTS 35,000 BOOKINGS TO DATE
INTTRA, the container shipping electronic portal of six European-based shipping lines and their subsidiaries, reports that it has managed more than 35,000 bookings and 60,000 containers since it introduced its online booking program in July.
The figure translates into a weekly average of about 2,000 bookings and 3,500 containers transacted online.
A spokesman said that INTTRA has had a growth rate of 20 percent in recent weeks.
The portal allows shippers and forwarders to query schedules, book and track shipments across multiple ocean carriers.
INTTRA is currently conducting a pilot study for the introduction of INTTRA-LINK, a product that will connect directly to a shipper’s supply chain management or enterprise resource planning system.
Besides INTTRA, the other major container shipping portals are CargoSmart and GT Nexus.
