OOCL INTRODUCES INTERNET-BASED RATE QUOTATIONS
Orient Overseas Container Line has launched its Internet Rate Inquiry
Service, which allows customers to obtain rate quotations.
Customers complete a pre-designed form, which asks for cargo
description, port of origin and destination, other shipping requirements if
available and contact details.
OOCL said it will reply to Internet rate inquiries within 24 hours via
e-mail, fax, telephone and in person, according to the customer’s
preference. Customers can make multiple inquiries.
"Our customers do not have to be shipping experts to arrange a shipment
with us," said N.K. Balling, general manager, corporate marketing, of OOCL.
Along with rates, OOCL’s staff will "offer advice on the best possible
logistics solutions according to individual customers’ requirements."
