EVERGREEN REPORTS SLIDE IN REVENUE
Evergreen Marine Corp., the stock-market-listed arm of the Taiwanese group, reported a 22-percent decrease in consolidated revenues in August, compared to the same month last year.
Consolidated revenue figures for Evergreen Marine Corp. and its subsidiary Greencompass Marine S.A. fell to NT $4.2 billion ($122 million), from NT $5.4 billion in August 2000.
For the first eight months of the year, Evergreen Marine Corp. suffered a 9-percent drop in consolidated revenues, to NT $35.7 billion ($1 billion), from NT $39 billion in January-August 2000.
