ASIA-AUSTRALIA CONSORTIUM REVISE SERVICE
A consortium of Asia/Australia container carriers are changing their joint
service and reducing their joint fleet from five to four vessels, effective Sept. 10.
The AAX consortium of Australian National Line, APL, NYK, Djakarta
Lloyd and P&O Nedlloyd is withdrawing the Australian Enterprise, operated by
Australian National Line, at the completion of the ship’s current northbound voyage.
The new schedule of the consortium will consist of two fortnightly
loops, replacing a single weekly service.
The first loop will have a rotation of Port Kelang, Singapore,
Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle and Port Kelang.
Loop two will call at Port Kelang, Singapore, Fremantle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide,
Fremantle and Port Kelang.
The consortium has been able to withdraw one vessel by dropping the
call in Hobart, Tasmania, by combining the previous load and discharge calls in Singapore
to a single call in Singapore, and by increasing the speed of the service.
Details of the revised service and transit times are posted on the
ComPair Data global shipping database on at http://www.compairdata.com.
