USDA raises warehouse license and inspection fees
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency has increased its annual fee for warehouse operators who are licensed to handle agricultural commodities.
The agency said the increase is needed to help cover the costs of administering the U.S. Warehouse Act. The fiscal 2006 fee change, effective Jan. 1, reflects an average 5 percent increase in annual fees.
The fee for original issuance, reissuance, or duplication of a license for cotton, grain, tobacco, wool, dry beans, nut, sweetners, and cottonseed is $80 per license. The fee charged to license individuals to inspect, sample, grade, classify, or weigh commodities is $35 per license.
