Caribbean Sun Airlines will close
Caribbean Sun Airlines will shut down operations and lay off workers at its San Juan hub, with sister airline Caribbean Star taking over some routes, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.
Caribbean Sun was originally created because the Federal Aviation Administration did not allow airlines from Antigua to fly to U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico. Caribbean Sun is based in Antigua.
With changes to FAA regulations last year, Caribbean Star will be able to take over the routes, the company said in a statement.
