ABX LOGISTICS ACQUIRES DUBOIS

ABX Logistics, the fast-growing logistics subsidiary of the National Company of Belgian Railways, has acquired French transport and warehousing group Dubois.

The terms of the takeover were not disclosed.

Dubois has annual revenues of 3.4 billion French francs ($510 million), 3,500 employees and some 600,000 square meters of warehouses. Dubois’ activities cover European transport and logistics.

The acquisition of the total capital of Dubois will reinforce ABX Logistics’ position in France, the Belgian company said.

ABX Logistics said that Serge Duhem has become the managing director of Dubois France and Jean-Fran'ois Auz'au the managing director of ABX Logistics Overseas France.

ABX Logistics has climbed to the top ranks of European transport and logistics operators following its takeover last year of Saima Avandero, one of the largest Italian forwarding and transport groups.

ABX Logistics had group revenues of 100 billion Belgian francs ($2.5 billion) in 1999, employing 16,000 people in 30 countries.
