U.S. Maritime Administration, State Department continue work on U.S./China agreement
The U.S. Maritime Administration is continuing to work on the draft U.S./China bilateral maritime agreement adopted in September.
MarAd is working through a formal inter-departmental clearance process with the State Department, the National Security Council and other agencies, according to a senior MarAd official.
MarAd has not disclosed the main contents of the maritime agreement, which was initialed in September by Maritime Administrator William G. Schubert and his Chinese counterparts in San Francisco.
