Jade adds freighter, destinations
Chinese startup airline Jade Cargo International said it has taken delivery of its third Boeing 747-400 Extended Range freighter and added four more destinations to its flight schedule.
Jade is leasing the new production freighter from Ireland-based leasing firm Amentum Capital.
The new destinations served by Jade are Shanghai-Pudong; Luxembourg; Leipzig, Germany; and Stockholm, Sweden. Jade has added two weekly flights from Shenzhen to Leipzig, routed back via Stockholm, as well as a weekly link between Shenzhen and Luxembourg. One additional flight per week from its Shenzhen hub to Amsterdam increases the connectivity between the two airports to six flights per week. With its two new weekly services from Shanghai-Pudong to Amsterdam, Jade Cargo International offers a total of 12 weekly frequencies between the major Sino-European markets. The expanded network serves 10 destinations including the already established services to Barcelona, Spain; Brescia, Italy; Osaka, Japan; and Seoul, Korea.
Jade, a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines, Lufthansa and a German investment firm, started operations last August serving Amsterdam and Seoul three times per week. It is scheduled to receive its fourth 747-400 in May.
