St. Lawrence Seaway budget would include new tolls
Officials from the St. Lawrence Seaway Wednesday testified before the House Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment, which will consider a proposal for new tolls on use of the seaway.
Subcommittee chair John Duncan Jr., R-Tenn., noted that new tolls are part of the administration's budget request. 'This seems consistent with the Department of Transportation's effort to increase the use of the Seaway as a means of reducing congestion on other modes of transportation,' Duncan said.
