NORTHWEST AIRLINES CARGO ADDS ASIA/CINCINNATI FREIGHTER SERVICE
Northwest Airlines Cargo said it will begin scheduled freighter service between Cincinnati and Asia, via its Anchorage hub, starting July 16.
NWA Cargo's service will operate from Asia weekdays, arriving the same day at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport at 11:35 p.m. The freighter departs for Asia Tuesday through Saturday at 5 a.m. for next-day arrival in Asia.
The Minneapolis-based airline plans to use scheduled trucks to connect to 35 cities in a 14-state region, including next-morning delivery to Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton and Toledo, Ohio; Indianapolis; Lexington and Louisville, Ky.; Memphis and Nashville, Tenn.; and Pittsburgh. Exports from these cities using NWA Cargo's Select 100 service will arrive second-day at Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Taipei, Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Guam, Saipan and Seoul.
The next-morning deliveries cut a full day off the delivery times from Chicago and New York gateways. Next-afternoon delivery will be available to Atlanta. Second-morning delivery will be available to 24 cities in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.
Cincinnati will be NWA Cargo's sixth U.S. station served by freighter.
