EUROPE/AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND CARRIERS RAISE RATES
The shipping lines of the Europe to Australia and New Zealand Conference will increase southbound freight rates, with effect from Oct. 1.
The rate increase will be $150 per TEU, with rates due to remain unchanged until March 2001, for all areas except Italy.
Details on rate increases for shipments from Italy will be announced soon, the conference said.
The carriers of the Europe to Australia and New Zealand Conference are CMA CGM, Marfret, Consortium Hispania Lines, Contship Containerlines, Hapag-Lloyd, P&O Nedlloyd and Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
