BXA HOLDS MEETING ABOUT NEW EXPORT RULES FOR CUBA, IRAN, LIBYA, SUDAN
The U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Export Administration will hold a meeting at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, for companies interested in exporting agricultural commodities to Cuba and agricultural commodities, medicines and medical devices to Iran, Libya and Sudan.
The agency said the meeting will help companies understand the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act (TSRA) of 2000 and its new export provisions to these countries. The rules take effect on July 26.
Under the TSRA, the Export Administration will implement the law pertaining to agricultural exports to Cuba, while the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control will oversee shipments of agricultural commodities, medicines and medical devices to Iran, Libya and Sudan.
