Israeli ocean carrier ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has nominated Eli Glickman to serve as its next president and chief executive officer following the departure of long-time CEO Rafi Danieli, the company said in a statement.
ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. has nominated Eli Glickman to serve as its next president and chief executive officer, effective July 1, the company said in a statement.
He will replace Rafi Danieli, who has led the Israeli liner carrier for the past eight years. Before being appointed CEO, Danieli served as chief financial officer and deputy CEO. Danieli is also credited with leading ZIM’s recent operational reorganization.
“It has been a privilege to lead ZIM during the most difficult times the industry has ever faced,” Danieli said in a statement. “Through the combined efforts of management and our devoted employees, during these difficult times we improved our network, operating margins, efficiency and customer service. For the last eight financial quarters, our operating margins have put us in the top tier of liner companies.”
Glickman, 55, most recently served as CEO of the Israel Electric Co., and before that was deputy CEO of Partner–Orange Cellular Communication. From 2003 to 2005, he was CEO of Exel MPL, a logistics company.
In addition, ZIM’s current CFO, Guy Eldar, will resign from the company “for personal reasons” after four and half years. His replacement has yet to be nominated, the carrier said.
