Europe/Caribbean/Venezuela lines raise rates
Shipping lines of the Association of West India Trans-Atlantic Steam Ship Lines, a conference in the Europe/Caribbean/Central America/North Coast of South America trade, said that they will increase westbound rates on July 1 by 125 euros or $125 per TEU.
“This will be followed by a further increase on Oct. 1, the details of which will be confirmed nearer the time,” the conference said in a statement.
The conference cited an “extraordinary increases in system costs, and particularly charter hire.”
