APL CHRISTENS 2,500-TEU SHIP
APL has christened a 2,500-TEU, Singapore-flag vessel the “APL Dalian.”
Named after the Chinese port city of Dalian, the vessel is the last of four sister vessels built by the German shipyard Aker MTW for APL, the container shipping arm of the Neptune Orient Lines group.
APL said that the new ship was put to work immediately to maintain sailing schedules and restore services in the wake of the U.S. West Coast ports shutdown earlier this month.
