DHL TO LOWER FUEL SURCHARGE
DHL Worldwide Express, announced Monday it will implement an indexed fuel surcharge in the U.S. for domestic and outbound international deliveries. This will lower its current three percent fuel surcharge to half of one percent (0.5%) beginning February 3, 2002.
The surcharge will be linked to the monthly rounded average of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for a gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel as published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. Changes to DHL’s surcharge will be effective the first Sunday of each month and will reflect average pricing for the month that is two months prior to the adjustment.
