DELTA WANTS NEW ARGENTINA SLOTS
Delta Air Lines said it will apply to U.S. regulators for rights to fly
from its hub in Atlanta to Buenos Aires, under the new aviation accord
signed by Argentina and the U.S. last week.
The carrier wants to begin the service in September, when seven new
weekly slots will be granted to U.S. airlines.
Delta said the Buenos Aires route is a top priority in its Latin
American expansion. Three other Delta filings for rights to serve Bogota,
Colombia; Montevideo, Uruguay; and Santiago, Chile are pending governmental approval.
