Simon named APL Logistics president

   NOL Group has appointed 30-year logistics industry veteran Beat Simon to president of its APL Logistics subsidiary, effective March 1.
   Simon joins APL Logistics from Agility, where he has held senior management positions since 2006. He recently served as Agility’s chief executive officer in Europe.
   Between 2000 and 2006, he served in various management roles at Panalpina in Latin America. Prior to that, he spent 18 years with Danzas/DHL, rising through the ranks and serving as country manager in Brazil from 1998 to 2000.
   “His vast experience in and deep understanding of the industry makes him a perfect fit for this important role,” said NOL Group President and Chief Executive Officer Ng Yat Chung in a statement. “APL Logistics is well-positioned for growth and expansion under his leadership.”
