Fujitsu starts service around logistics KPIs

Fujitsu has announced the introduction of its new Logifit series of logistics solutions that seek to leverage data to help cut costs and improve service and data quality.
The first product, called Logifit/LM Butsuryu KPI, is now on sale in Japan and provides a logistics key performance indicator (KPI) software package that guides company improvements based on management options and logistics data.
Fujitsu says it based the software around “frontline logistics data,” which refers to information about incoming shipments, outgoing delivery operations, and delivery time performance. The system then integrates with platforms to combine this data with sales and other operations to develop KPIs and create analysis based on those KPIs.
The company hopes the platform will help to reduce logistics costs and the ratios of missing goods or accidents. It said such reductions will help customers and their partners keep up with shifts in retail such as direct shipments from manufacturers or retailers, shipments to individual consumers, and the diversification of the items being carried by brands.
The Logifit series is scheduled to add a series of modules to its logistics management platform, including warehouse management, transportation management, and a platform to bridge the three and present unified information in real-time.
