EUROPE CARIBBEAN LINE UPGRADES SOUTH AMERICAN SERVICE

   Europe Caribbean Line, the niche shipping line managed by Rotterdam-based Vertraco Shipping, has added a vessel to its Europe/Surinam/Guyana service, making the service fixed-day weekly.

   The new vessel, the “Sierra Leyre,” will enter the service when it sails from the Dutch port of Flushing on March 8.

   The service now includes an eastbound voyage for cargoes such as wood, frozen fish and fresh vegetables, the carrier said.

   The revised rotation is Southampton, England; Flushing, Netherlands; Paramaribo, Surinam; Georgetown, Guyana (monthly); Paramaribo; Southampton and Flushing.

   Europe Caribbean Line also operate a monthly one-way service from Europe to Surinam and Guyana, transporting heavy lifts, project cargo and rolling materials.
