Bush reassigns top Homeland Security official
Gordon England, deputy homeland security secretary, will continue in his current post until the Senate confirms his replacement, a DHS spokeswoman confirmed.
The White House said Aug. 22 that President Bush plans to nominate England to be secretary of the Navy, a position he held before taking over the number two position at DHS early this year.
England is moving back to the Navy Department because Bush's previous nominee for that job, Colin McMillan, committed suicide in July.
