FESCO TO SPLIT PACIFIC SERVICE

   From mid-November, Russian ocean carrier Far Eastern Shipping Co. will is to split its current FESCO Pacific Line transpacific service into two loops.

   The FESCO Pacific Line service will omit weekly calls at Seattle and fortnightly calls at Vladivostok, while a new service called FESCO America Russia Express Line will link those ports.

   The new FAREX service will commence Nov. 15 and offer a 15-day sailing frequency. The service will use two vessels with roll-on/roll-off capabilities and the direct ports of call will be Seattle, Vladivostok, Korsakov and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy. Magadan will be served via a feeder link from Vladivostok. The transit time from Seattle to Vladivostok will be 16 days.

   The revised port rotation of the weekly FESCO Pacific Line will be Long Beach, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong and Long Beach.
