XPO Europe secures contract logistics deal

Door manufacturer Door-Stop International has selected XPO Logistics to deliver products from its manufacturing plant in Nottingham to customers across the United Kingdom.

XPO Logistics has won a multi-million pound, three-year contract from door manufacturer Door-Stop International to deliver products from its manufacturing plant in Nottingham to customers across the United Kingdom, the company said. XPO has recently secured several new customers in the UK.
Door-Stop makes and delivers orders made online within four days. About 80 percent of deliveries are made to installation sites, and the rest are shipped to home builders’ suppliers.
The acquisition-heavy third-part logistics provider redesigned Door-Stop’s supply chain to ensure reliable truck deliveries for about 4,500 orders per month totaling more than 10,000 doors. Doors are transported to depots in Rochester and Gloucester and two-man XPO teams deliver the doors to customers with a customized fleet of Sprinter vans.
XPO, with annual revenues of $7.6 billion, also said French auto maker Renault renewed a contract for inbound logistics to factories in western France.
XPO entered the European market last year with the $3.5 billion acquisition of Norbert Dentressangle. It has 197 facilities in the United Kingdom covering some 3.5 million square feet and more than 15,000 employees.
Earlier this year, XPO landed a five-year contract worth an estimated $600 million with frozen food retailer Iceland Foods, as well deals with supermarket chain Aldi (for lifecycle support and distribution of reusable plastic crates), Matchfusion.com, Swatch and General Motors in the UK.
The UK was the largest contributor to growth for XPO Logistics Europe in 2015, with revenues rising 15.9 percent from the previous year.
In addition to offering contract logistics, XPO is known for trucking, truck brokerage, intermodal, and e-commerce fulfillment.
