OOCL RENAMES ITS LOGISTICS ARM

OOCL RENAMES ITS LOGISTICS ARM

Hong Kong-based shipping group Orient Overseas Container Line will rename Cargo System, its logistics and cargo consolidation arm, “OOCL Logistics.”

The change of name will be effective Jan. 1. A spokesman for OOCL said that the name OOCL Logistics has already been used in China, and will now be extended to the rest of the company’s international logistics activities.

The new name will also more closely associate the OOCL brand name for both its container shipping and logistics activities. Other shipping groups with dual container shipping and logistics sister organizations trading under very similar brand names include Maersk, COSCO, APL, “K” Line, MOL and P&O Nedlloyd.
