PSA LOGISTICS LAUNCHES CONTAINER SECURITY SOFTWARE
PSA Logistics, a subsidiary of PSA Corp., has begun marketing an e-logistics suite of applications called N2N ‘smart container solutions.’
The suite enables supply chain partners to secure shipments and comply with U.S. government programs by building on an existing infrastructure of Web-based software integrated with automatic identification technology.
The N2N solutions are being launched through PSA Logistics’ container security trials, via shippers that have containers in transit from Thailand, Indonesia, China, India, Malaysia and Singapore to destinations in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.
PSA Logistics’ solutions include components from Exe, Intermec Technologies, Manugistics, Savi Technology, and Sun Microsystems and i-STT.
The suite of applications comprises N2N Connect, which links manufacturers, distributors and logistics providers; N2N Secure, which helps shippers comply with container security requirements, and N2N Hub, which positions containers in PSA’s yards closer to final destinations.
The suite also includes N2N Book, powered by PORTNET’s CargoD2D, an online freight booking system that uses a neutral platform from which shippers can interact with ocean carriers, forwarders, and truckers.
The PSA Group operates a large container transshipment hub in Singapore and has access to 250 shipping lines with connections to 600 ports in 123 countries.
