GATX CORP. SELLS 81% OF GATX LOGISTICS
GATX Corp. said Thursday that it will sell 81 percent of GATX Logistics Inc. to Oak Hill Capital Partners and the Stephens Group.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed. GATX Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of GATX Corp. and is part of the GATX Integrated Solutions Group.
Oak Hill Capital Partners, a private equity investment group, will acquire a 57-percent interest in GATX Logistics and Stephens Group, a Little Rock, Ark.-based holding company will acquire 23 percent. GATX Corp., based in Chicago, will retain 19 percent. GATX Logistics' management team will participate as investors in the transaction, which is expected to close in the second quarter.
GATX Logistics provides contract logistics services, including business-to-consumer logistics services through Paxis LLC. The company employees 3,200 employees and operates a extensive distribution network through North, Central and South America.
The integrated solutions group shares resources and expertise among its divisions, which include GATX Terminals, GATX Chemical Logistics, GATX Monitoring Services and GATX Rail Logistics.
