MacAndrews names Kuwait agent
MacAndrews has appointed CMA CGM Kuwait WLL as its agency representative in Kuwait, in a move designed to develop the London-based carrier’s representation and activities in the Middle East.
Established in 2003, the agency is a joint venture between MacAndrews’ parent company CMA CGM and Abdulrahman M. Al-Bahar & Sons.
MacAndrews said the agency will initially focus its efforts on securing Kuwaiti cargoes for its EPIC and Swahili Express services, which can be used via transshipment over Jebel Ali, Dubai.
“Prospects for trade are very bright and Dubai is a key gateway, offering a very strong and efficient transshipment center for regional trade,” said Jim Robb, MacAndrews’ general manager, Indian trades. “But Kuwait is just the start and we are committed to expanding the MacAndrews brand into new markets throughout the Gulf area.”
