CHINA SHIPPING DROPS SHIPS ON PACIFIC LINK
China Shipping Container Lines has cut the number of ships on its weekly transpacific “AAS 2” service from five to three, thereby reducing the sailing frequency to fortnightly.
The “AAS 2” service now uses three ships averaging 2,465 TEUs. Previously five ships averaging 2,863 TEUs were deployed. The change will see a reduction of nearly 85,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity in the transpacific trade.
The port rotation for the “AAS 2” service is Ningbo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Yantian, Keelung, Busan, Hakata, Oakland, Los Angeles, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Keelung, Busan and Hakata.
