SHANGHAI PORT/A.P. MOLLER VENTURE HANDLES FIRST SHIP
Shanghai East Container Terminal, a joint venture between the Shanghai port authority and APM Terminals, has handled its first containership, the “SL Patriot.”
The joint venture terminal operates the 163-hectare, four-berth terminal of Wai Gao Qiao Phase 4.
Maersk Sealand, a sister company of APM Terminals with the Danish A.P. Moller group, has sent one of its containerships to the Shanghai container terminal of the joint venture.
The carrier said that the terminal “promises to be the largest container terminal in Eastern China.”
