Great Western adds Shanghai, capacity to Pacific service
'Tequesta, Fla.-based Great Western Steamship Co. said it has received approval from the Chinese Ministry of Communications to add port calls at Shanghai to its weekly transpacific service.

''''The Chinese ministry also gave Great Western the go-ahead for direct calls to be made at Shekou, in South China. A spokesman for Great Western said that it has not yet decided whether to introduce calls at Shekou.

''''Great Western has recently added a fifth vessel to the transpacific service to help maintain a fixed-day weekly frequency.
