Bush signs Chile, Singapore free trade agreements into law
President Bush signed the U.S. free trade agreements with Chile and Singapore into law Wednesday.
The free-trade agreement with Chile is the first with a South American country. Similarly, the Singapore free trade agreement is the first established by the United States with an Asia-Pacific country.
Bush said he expects to sign “many more” free trade agreements, citing ongoing trade negotiations with Australia, Morocco, five Central American countries, and the Southern African Customs Union.
