Busy Miami highway connection closed Friday night
The westbound on-ramp from northbound LeJeune Road to westbound State Road 836 in Miami will be closed from 10 p.m. tonight until 5 p.m. Saturday to allow work crews to perform utility repair work along the ramp.
The Miami Intermodal Center issued a traffic advisory late Thursday warning about the temporary ramp closure. The access ramp is normally under heavy use by delivery trucks in the airport area, which has been impacted by a series of road improvement projects.
The suggested detour for northbound traffic on LeJeune Road is to turn left on Northwest 14th Street and take that west to Northwest 43rd Avenue. Turn left and follow the road to Northwest 45th Avenue then take a left and immediately turn right to proceed to the on-ramp to westbound SR-836. Westbound traffic on Northwest 14th Street should continue straight across LeJeune Road to Northwest 43rd Avenue, then turn left and follow the preceding directions to westbound SR-836.
