NEW CONSORTIUM FORMED FOR TWO ASIA/INDIA SERVICES
Starting from the end of this month, Advanced Container Lines, Hyundai Merchant Marine, MOL and Samudera Shipping are forming a new consortium to run two weekly services between Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
The first sailing of the new “Nhava Sheva Express” service will depart from Singapore on May 28. The NSX service will use 850-TEU vessels and call Port Kelang, Singapore, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Cochin, Colombo, Port Kelang and Singapore.
The “Bombay Express” service, previously operated by MOL and Samudera, will use 750-TEU vessels with a port rotation of Penang, Port Kelang, Singapore, Mumbai, Colombo, Penang, Port Kelang and Singapore. The revised rotation of the BMX service commences with one of the vessels departing from Singapore on May 26.
