NYK Logistics to open first warehouse in Moscow

NYK Logistics will open its first warehousing operation in Moscow in June after the Japanese group signed a long-term rental contract with developers Logo Group in February for a newly constructed 13,500-square-meter warehouse in the Pokrov region of Russia’s capital.

NYK said the warehouse, 10 kilometers from Moscow ring road (MKAD) on Simferopolskoye Highway, will serve customers in several industries, most notably in consumer electronics.

“Opening of the Moscow warehouse is an important stepping-stone towards development of full service portfolio in Russia,” said Mikhail Kholyavenko, managing director of NYK Logistics (CIS). “Over the last four years, NYK has been active in the Russian logistics market, establishing reliable and efficient international transport, customs clearance and domestic distribution solutions within the automotive, retail and consumer electronics industries. Opening a warehouse in Moscow underscores NYK Logistics' commitment to Russia and allows us to serve our existing and future customers better.”
