UP reshuffles management team

   Union Pacific Railroad announced Friday changes to the positions held by some of its management team.

   Charles Malone has been appointed vice president-terminal planning and operations. Based in Omaha, Malone is now responsible for terminal productivity and asset utilization, including safety and yard capacity planning. Malone was regional vice president-south.

   Joe Santamaria has taken on Malone’s former role, with responsibility for the day-to-day operation of trains over the 5,500-mile southern region in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.

   Santamaria was regional vice president-central, That position has been filled by Randy Blackburn. Blackburn is responsible for the operation of trains in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Kansas. He was vice president-premium operations.
