Executive Moves: American Waterways Operators and Deutsche Post DHL Group

American Waterways Operators elects new chairman, while Deutsche Post DHL Group shuffles Global Forwarding officers in wake of resignation.

American Waterways Operators, a trade association representing the tugboat, towboat and barge industry, elected David G. Sehrt, chief operating officer and senior vice president of Ingram Barge Co., as chairman. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Frank Morton, director of Turn Services. James F. Farley, president of Kirby Offshore Marine, was also elected vice chairman.

Roger Crook, a member of the Deutsche Post DHL Group’s management board and Global Forwarding, Freight chief executive officer, has resigned for personal reasons. He has been at DHL in various management roles since 1988. Pending the appointment of a new board member for Global Forwarding, Freight, Frank Appel, chief executive officer of Deutsche Post DHL Group, will take on a dual role. For the operational management of the Global Forwarding business, Renato Chiavi, has been named interim CEO, and Amadou Diallo remains CEO, Freight, responsible for road and rail transport services.
