FMC reviews 5 OTI applications, revokes 4 licenses
The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission has received five ocean transportation intermediary license applications for review.
The agency received a non-vessel-operating common carrier application from LCL Agencies (India) Private Ltd., South Plain Field, N.J. (Ravindranath K. Menon, director).
The FMC received NVO/ocean freight forwarder license applications from Monumental Shipping & Moving Corp., East Elmhurst, N.Y. (Jose L. Jorge, president) and Titan International, Mobile, Ala. (Samford T. Myers, president).
In addition, the FMC received ocean freight forwarder license applications from Affordable Shipping Services, Houston (Nicholas O. Ezenwa, vice president); and Aras Forwarding, Bonney Lake, Wash. (Sara Barnes, sole proprietor).
Persons knowing of any reason why an applicant should not receive an OTI license are urged to contact the FMC’s Office of Transportation Intermediaries in Washington at (202) 523-5843.
The FMC also revoked four OTI licenses for failure to maintain valid bonds. The effected firms include Cargofast International, South San Francisco, Calif.; DLM Ventures, Miami; Foreign Freight Systems Corp., Medley, Fla.; and Heron International, Spring, Texas.
