TACA TO RAISE BUNKER SURCHARGE
Carriers of the Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement said Friday they will more than double their bunker adjustment factor, effective May 15.
For U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports, the bunker adjustment factor will raised from $42 to $88 per 20-foot container, and from $84 to $176 per 40- or 45-foot container.
For U.S. Pacific Coast ports, the rates will be raised from $63 to $132 per 20-foot container; and from $126 to $264 per 40- and 45-foot container, from $126.
TACA said those adjustments will apply through June 14. The existing rates have been effective since April 1.
