CHINA SHIPPING DROPS CHINESE PORTS ON ASIA/EUROPE LINK
China Shipping Container Lines has dropped the Chinese ports of Xingang and Qingdao from its weekly Asia/Europe/Mediterranean service. At the same time Valencia has replaced Gioia Tauro in the Mediterranean region.
The Asia/Europe service currently uses nine ships but is in the process of being retonnaged with eight new vessels of around 5,500 TEUs. The revised port rotation is Felixstowe, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Valencia, Port Kelang, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Port Kelang, Valencia and Felixstowe again.
CMA CGM and Zim both take slots on this service.
