DOLE ADDS LARGER SHIP TO U.S. GULF/CENTRAL AMERICA SERVICE
Dole Fresh Fruit Co., the giant produce producer, has introduced a larger vessel into its service between Freeport, Texas, and Central America.
The “Dole Honduras,” which carriers 490 FEUs of reefer containers, was displaced from Dole's East Coast service by the deployment of two 1,032-FEU ships, the “Dole Chile” and “Dole Colombia”.
The “Dole Honduras” replaces a smaller 190-FEU vessel, increasing Dole's capacity out of Freeport by 120 percent.
