TIBBETT & BRITTEN GROUP REORGANIZES, CREATES EUROPEAN DIVISION
Tibbett & Britten Group plc, the U.K.-based logistics provider, has created a European division and named Saad Hammad as managing director, Europe.
In addition, the company has created an operating board and restructured the group board. The operating board, led by Mike Arrowsmith, will formulate strategy and direct implementation. The board will comprise Arrowsmith, Mike Sprague, president of the Americas; Hammad, Martin Graham, managing director, U.K. and Ireland; Bill Howie, managing director, fashion; David Musgrave, managing director, MEA/global accounts; Mark Whiteling, group finance director; and Jo Robbins, group human resources director.
The group board will comprise John Harvey as executive chairman, Arrowsmith, Hammad, Sprague and Whiteling. Three non-executive directors, Edward Buchan, Bill Thomson and Robert wood, will continue to serve on the group board. Graham, Musgrave and Mike Evans have resigned from the group board.
Hammad will take over as managing director, Europe, in early 2003. He was most recently chief executive officer of Autocascade Ltd., an Avis Europe/Inchcape Plc joint venture company. He started his career with Procter & Gamble in 1986, joined Boston Consulting Group in 1991 and moved to Thorn EMI as strategic development director in 1994. He also served as executive vice president, international, for Vision Express Group, and group sales and marketing director for Mini Plc.
