SENATE CONFIRMS BLAKEY AS FAA ADMINISTRATOR
The Senate on Wednesday confirmed Marion Blakey AS administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration. She replaces Jane F. Garvey, whose five-year term as administrator term expired last month.
Blakey has served in several government posts, including time as Administrator of the National Transportation Safety Board, and Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (1992-1993). She has also served as the principal of Blakey & Associates, a public affairs consulting firm that focuses on transportation issues and traffic safety.
She has also served in five government departments and agencies, including positions at the Department of Commerce and the White House.
