Ocean carriers Maersk Line, CMA CGM and NileDutch have issued general rate increases.
For Maersk Line, rates will increase from:
*Middle East and Indian subcontinent to Europe (excluding Syria) effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $125 per TEU, $250 per forty-foot container (FEU), $250 per 40-foot high cube and $250 per 45-foot high cube.
*Middle East and Indian subcontinent to Syria effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by 112 euros per TEU, 224 euros per FEU, 224 euros per 40-foot high cube and 224 euros per 45-foot high cube.
*Syria to the Middle East and Indian subcontinent effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by 175 euros per TEU, FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube.
*The Mediterranean (excluding Syria) to the Middle East and Indian subcontinent effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU, FEU, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot high cube.
*China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $1,000 per TEU, $2,000 per FEU, $2,000 per 40-foot high cube and $1,000 per 45 foot high cube dry. The NOR general rate increase will be equal to 20 feet at $750, Maersk said.
*China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea to Australia effective Oct. 15. Rates will increase by $500 per TEU, $1,000 per FEU and $1,000 per 40-foot high cube.
For CMA CGM, rates will increase from:
*The East Mediterranean to the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf on all cargo effective Oct. 7. Rates will increase by $150 per container.
*Asia (including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to South Africa and Port Louis on all cargo on its Shaka service effective Oct. 9. Rates will increase by $150 per TEU.
*Asia (including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to Cape Town, South Africa on all cargo effective Oct. 9. Rates will increase by $150 per TEU.
The French carrier will also implement a peak season surcharge on reefer containers (except potatoes/onions/apples campaign in place) from North Europe to West Africa between Oct. 1 through Dec. 31. The surcharge will be 200 euros per 40-foot reefer high.
NileDutch will increase rates on its services from the Far East to West Africa effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $500 per container.
