MAERSK SEALAND SERVICES SKIP CONGESTED LOS ANGELES
Maersk Sealand has notified its customers that vessels on several U.S. West Coast services will have to skip calls at the congested port of Los Angeles.
The Asia/U.S./Europe/U.S./Asia “TP3/TA3” service and the California/Mexico/West Coast of Central America service will only call at the port of Oakland, until further notice, “due to extreme congestion and berthing delays,” the Danish mega-carrier said.
Maersk Sealand has also suspended accepting bookings for cargoes to and from Los Angeles on these services. Other transpacific services, such as the TP2, TP5 and TP6 services, are not affected by the change.
The carrier said it would restore normal service when conditions in the port allow.
