Matson Intermodal renamed Matson Integrated Logistics

Matson Intermodal System, a subsidiary of Matson Navigation, has been renamed Matson Integrated Logistics.

The company’s activities have grown to include domestic intermodal rail service, long haul and regional highway services, international intermodal service, and specialized hauling, the company said.

In addition to acquiring a new name, Matson Integrated Logistics will introduce air freight services in the coming months.

With this move, Matson Navigation joins many other shipping companies that have set up stand-alone logistics arms.

“Our new name, Matson Integrated Logistics, reflects the company’s goal of providing an array of multimodal transportation services,” said Robert Papworth, president.

Matson Integrated Logistics will continue to provide intermodal transportation services.

Matson Navigation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alexander and Baldwin, Inc. of Honolulu.
