Port Manatee elects board chairwoman and officers, while Canadian Pacific Railway appoints new board member and Port of Los Angeles names deputy police chief.
Port Manatee on the Florida Gulf Coast has elected Vanessa Baugh to a one-year term as chairwoman of its governing board. Owner of a jewelry store in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Baugh has served on the Manatee County Port Authority board since 2012.
In addition, the port selected new board members Priscilla Whisenant Trace and Stephen R. Jonsson and continuing member Charles B. Smith as officers.
Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) has appointed Jane L. Peverett to its board of directors. Peverett is a member of the board of directors of Hydro One Ltd., Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), Northwest Natural Gas Company and Encana Corp.
She most recently served as president and chief executive officer of British Columbia Transmission Corp. from 2005 to 2009 and chief financial officer from 2003 to 2005.
The Port of Los Angeles has named Michael Graychik deputy police chief. A 35-year law enforcement veteran, Graychik will oversee emergency management, marine and patrol, along with support service operations at the Los Angeles Port Police. He will also serve as a member of the Port Police executive team, reporting directly to Port Police Chief Tom Gazsi.
