FRITZ OPENS SOUTHERN CHINA WAREHOUSE
Fritz Cos. has opened a warehouse in the southern Chinese port of Yantian.
The 400,000-square-foot facility will offer shippers a variety of
logistics services, such as freight consolidation, on-site customs
supervision and racking for inbound shipments.
Fritz said that the emerging Yantian port has several advantages over
neighboring Hong Kong. Containers stuffing charges are 25 percent cheaper
in Yantian as opposed to Hong Kong. Hong Kong’s terminal handling charge is about $200
more than Yantian. Labor and land costs are also on the rise for warehouse operators in
Hong Kong.
