EMIRATES PUTS CLAIMS MANAGEMENT ONLINE
Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has added a claims management module to its SkyChain Web-based shipping automation system.
SkyClaims, developed in association with Emirates' technology subsidiary Mercator, will allow customers to initiate and track cargo claims using the Internet, from notification to settlement. It also can generate reports that help the airline monitor performance. It will cut down on fraud, Emirates said.
Mercator recently signed a partnership agreement with Bolero.net, a London-based company developing an online documentation and financial settlement system for shipping. SkyChain is accessed at http://www.skychain.com .
